Nestled on the shores of Lac Achigan in Saint-Hippolyte, this new-build residence was born out of trust and creative freedom. From the very beginning, the homeowners gave our team complete carte blanche to design a living space that reflected their lifestyle — warm, fluid, and grounded in its natural environment.
The wooded, peaceful setting naturally guided our choices. Rather than imposing on the landscape, we designed a home that flows with it. The materials palette highlights natural textures — wood, stone, matte ceramics, textiles — all selected for their lasting beauty and quiet strength.
Every opening was carefully planned to frame views and let in natural light throughout the day, enhancing the calm, serene atmosphere of the interiors.
A space made for hosting
Designed for a family that loves to entertain, the layout makes it easy to host without sacrificing comfort or functionality. The kitchen features two distinct islands — one dedicated to food prep, the other to conversation and connection. This space opens seamlessly onto a large terrace that extends the living area outdoors.
The kitchen, dining room and living room flow together without partitions but maintain a sense of structure. The furniture is chosen for comfort and longevity, but also for its ability to support the calm, cohesive atmosphere of the home.
A wine cellar as the heart of the home
The wine cellar stands out as a signature space in the project. Far from an afterthought, it was designed as a fully immersive lounge — featuring rich textures, leather seating, a sculptural stone coffee table, and dimmed lighting for a moody, intimate ambiance.
It perfectly reflects the spirit of the home: welcoming, intentional, and quietly striking.
Design that’s built to last
Timelessness guided every decision. From the layout to the materials, everything was chosen with durability and long-term relevance in mind. There’s no place here for trends or surface-level design — just thoughtful, layered spaces built to support everyday life.
The design language is clear, balanced, and responsive to how the home is actually lived in — both now and in the years to come.
A seamless collaboration
This project was developed in close collaboration with Architecture Nathalie St-Martin, resulting in a strong continuity between the architectural form and the interior experience. The dialogue between structure and design allowed us to fine-tune every detail — from volume and circulation to materials and furnishings — with consistency and care.
